Potomac Valley Radio Club (PVRC) and YASME Foundation - Gold Clubsponsors of the WRTC
At the end of the year WRTC 2018 e.V. received very nice „Christmas presents“ from the United States. The Potomac Valley Radio Club (PVRC) donated 4000 Euros to support the WRTC 2018 in Germany. They dedicated three tents in memory of their silent key members, including one tent dedicated especially to W3AU, W3GRF and W4KFC.
PVRC was founded in 1947 and quickly established a long tradition of club competition success in both domestic and DX contests. Today PVRC is a regional amateur radio club devoted to excellence in the competitive aspects of ham radio, particularly contesting. The club has over 750 members. As a result of keeping the tradition of „once a PVRC member, always a member“ the club literally has members world-wide. Each June an on-the-air reunion is held that brings out the contest spirit and provides an opportunity to renew old friendships.
Moreover WRTC got a donation by the YASME foundation to support the "Ham Widows' Ball" 2018. The "Ham Widows' Ball" is a major social event during the WRTC with the goal of gathering non-ham partners of the WRTC participants.
More tent sponsorings at the turn of the year were given by the South German DX Group, the Frankford Radio Club und K5WA.
Beside this we welcomed several significant individual donations by YLs and OMs.
WRTC 2018 e.V. expresses its sincere thank for the generous support of WRTC 2018 and contesting in general.
