WRTC 2018 is pleased to announce that Messi & Paoloni (M&P) of Italy has teamed up with WRTC 2018 e.V. for the World Radio Team Championship in 2018 in Germany. M&P will donate altogether 10 km of its coaxial cable of the type M&P-ULTRAFLEX 7.

M&P is well known to the insiders as a top quality manufacturer especially of 50 Ohm coaxial cables. Its factory produces in Ancona at the Adriatic Sea, about 300 km north east of Rome and 350 km south of Venice. The company celebrated its 70th anniversary in March of 2016.

As Stefano Messi, President and General Manager of M&P put it: “Germany is an attractive market for us, because the Germans are well known for their quality mindedness, which just forms a perfect background for our products. We are proud having been chosen to supply the coaxial cables for this unique event.”

Specialists of WRTC 2018 e.V. have extensively tested the cables well beyond the frequencies to be used for the competition. The RF-parameters were at least as good as those of the widely used RG-213 variety, while the mechanical properties – especially bending radius and weight – by far outperformed the reference.

When announcing the decision on the cable supplier, Chris Janssen, DL1MGB, president of WRTC 2018 e.V., pointed out: “I am really pleased to announce our first European GOLD Sponsor from outside of Germany. Messi & Paoloni offered us a cable which ideally matched our needs: Sturdy, light weight and good RF-performance.”

WRTC 2018 e.V. organizes the World Radiosport Team Championship in Germany 2018. Up to now WRTC 2018 e.V. collected donations and sponsoring contributions mainly from Germany and the USA, covering about 40 percent of the budget.
