WRTC 2018 is pleased to announce that WiMo Antennen & Elektronik GmbH will support the World Radiosport Team Championship in Germany as a Gold Sponsor.

The World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC) is regarded as “the Olympics of Ham Radio”. Staged in Germany it is organized by a private group of individual radio amateurs. The event is funded entirely through donations.

Up to 63 competing teams will operate from tents in “Field Day” style. We will assemble a total of 65 stations to allow for contingencies (line noise, site access issues, etc.).

WRTC 2018 e.V., host of the 2018 World Radiosport Team Championship competition, is pleased to announce that the antennas to be used for the competition will be supplied by Spiderbeam. Spiderbeam was selected after a thorough technical evaluation and competitive bidding process among multiple antenna suppliers.

We are happy to receive a 1000 Euro donation by the German DX Foundation (GDXF) today. The GDXF is well known to the DX community for its continuous support of DXpeditions. GDXF president Franz Langer, DJ9ZB, underlined the strong connection between contesting and DXing. The donation has been handed over by Henning Folger, DL6DH to the WRTC president during the annual Bavarian Contest Club meeting. Henning, as a representative of the GDXF board of directors, said: "The GDXF is happy to see such a major event in Germany." We want to express our sincere thanks for the donation as a symbol of ham-spirit.

On January 6th, 2016 the WARC-Organizing-Committee met at Wittenberg with a comprehensive agenda and especially the following items

  • evaluated the offers from antenna manufacturers, which we received as a response on our request for quotation,
  • planning of a WRTC-test-weekend on July 9th/10th,
  • preparing WRTC-presentations at ham fairs in Dayton and Friedrichshafen
  • discussion of the WRTC-rules
  • discussion of the IT-concept
